The DogRoom is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals.


CANCELLATIONS
We hope you don’t have to cancel your grooming appointment but if you do please give us as much notice as possible, we are a small business, ‘no shows’ and late cancellations can have a detrimental effect on us.
If we have enough notice we may be able to fill your appointment. 

Exceptions will be made for unavoidable emergencies. Cancellations with less than 24hours notice will require a £20 non -refundable deposit before any further appointment will be made. 

REFUSAL OF SERVICE
The DogRoom reserves the right to refuse to groom any dog for the health and safety of the groomer and/or the dog. Services may be discontinued if The DogRoom determines that a dog presents an unsafe condition, such conditions include but are not limited to: behaviour issues, health problems and parasites. 
Owners agree to inform The DogRoom prior to grooming if the dog has ever bitten any human, another dog or has any aggressive tendencies whatsoever. Owners understand and agree that they will be held solely liable for any harm, injury or property damage caused by their dog
.
MATTED DOGS
The DogRoom will not de-matt, it can be stressful and painful,  The DogRoom reserve the right to refuse to carry out anything that we think will be detrimental to your pets well-being, in accordance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006 it is an offence to cause any animal pain or discomfort.Often the only humane option is clip the matted coat off, whether a dog is “matted” is at the sole discretion of The DogRoom.
The DogRoom shall not be held liable for any conditions uncovered during or after the removal of a matted neglected coat, these include, but are not limited to: itchiness, skin redness and irritation or self inflicted irritations/abrasion from excessive external rubbing or licking. 

ANAL GLANDS
Under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, only qualified Veterinary Surgeons are allowed to diagnose conditions and undertake treatments such as expressing anal glands, teeth scaling and the administeration of medicines, dog groomers are not qualified or covered by any insurance to carry out these procedures. During the grooming process we may observe conditions affecting your pet and inform you if we feel  that your dog requires further investigation by your vet.

TOILETTING PRIOR TO GROOMING
Please ensure that your dog has had opportunity to relieved itself prior to its appointment, The DogRoom does not have access to an outside area, and are not covered by any insurance to exercise your dog.  Poo bags are available if required 

PARASITES
It is the owners responsibility to ensure that their dog is free of parasites before entering the salon;
If fleas,ticks or lice are observed before a groom has started you will be refused service,and a the appointment will be treated as a late cancellation.  If your dog is found to have external parasites during a groom, the groom will be terminated and owners will be expected to collected their dog immediately an associated costs of £5 will be added to the FULL grooming charge which covers the extra time spent bathing the dog and cleaning the salon.
 

ALLERGIES AND SKIN CONDITIONS
If your dog suffers from any allergies or skin conditions inform The DogRoom and either provide a veterinaryprescribed shampoo or give permission to use a hypoallergenic product.

 
EXCESSIVE GROOMING
If a dog requires more than 3 hours work due to excessive matting or an overdue appointment, The DogRoom reserve the right to stop the grooming and request the dog comes for a return visit at an additional charge to the owner. 


COMPLAINTS
If for any reason, you not happy with any aspect of your dogs grooming experience at The DogRoom, please inform us within 24 hours of your appointment. We understand that it can sometimes be difficult interpreting a customer’s requests exactly, but this ca nusually be easily rectified

 
PICK UP
Appointments usually take 1 1/2 -2 hours, owners will be advised a time for collection when dropping off ,or contacted by telephone when their dog is ready for collection, owners will need to collect their dog within 30 minutes unless otherwise arranged. If by 5pm your dog has not been collected, we will assume your dog has been abandoned and will be forced to call the dog warden/police.

PAYMENT
Owners agree to pay all costs for the grooming of their dog including but not limited to: special handling requirements, fouling, parasites, dematting and fees due to late drop off/pick up or missed appointments.
